Welcome to the Sober Experiment.
Our Purpose
- We are proactive and want to raise awareness as a preventative measure by promoting physical health, mental health and well-being
- We help to give people new coping mechanisms so they don’t feel the need to self-medicate and show them how fulfilling life can be without alcohol
- The Sober Experiment challenges beliefs around alcohol and we are passionate about removing the stigma attached to sobriety and alcoholism.
- We arm you with the facts so you can make informed and educated choices surrounding alcohol
- We also provide a safe space to support everyone who chooses not to drink alcohol (either for social, religious, cultural or personal reasons) for people to be a part of and to talk openly and honestly without the fear of being labelled or judged
We have been best friends since high school and drank together for almost 30 years before ‘experimenting’ with a sober lifestyle that immediately became a permanent fixture. This is when life as best friends just got interesting and we can not wait for you to join us on this exciting journey.

The Sober Experiment for Individuals
If you are thinking about stopping drinking and would like extra support, we offer a 30 Day supported sober challenge. For less than 0.60p per day you will receive 30 daily inspirational videos , free downloadable journal and workbook alongside access to our private Facebook support group.

The Sober Experiment for Workplaces
30 days off the booze has lasting effects for 6 months to 1 year saving you thousands of pounds in productivity and absence-related costs. We are not like any other presenters you will hire, we are fun, relatable, engaging and inspiring and our brutally honest, real life presentation will have your employees excited to give our 30-day supported experiment a go.
We ensure everyone we touch has a raised awareness surrounding the impact of alcohol on wellbeing from CEO’s to Managers to Staff and provide the tools to allow people to support others by knowing how to identify and refer concerns.
The Sober Experiment Workshops
We can tailor a package to work intercatively with small groups to allow them to ask anything and say anything in a safe environment with no stigma attached. We ensure everyone we touch has a raised awareness. The are idea for lunchtime training sessions, conference events or speaking to groups in the community.

The Sober Experiment for Events and Panels
We speak on or host panels, podcasts and other media (including BBC Radio Manchester) to raise awareness and will happily come along to support your sober discussions.
We can also help to organise social events for your workplace, stock your fridges with alcohol free alternatives and of course, you are welcome to join one of our events. We have an excellent knowledge of alcohol free alternatives for anyone who chooses not to drink and both the sober and sober-curious are welcome at all our events.

This charity is close to both of our hearts and we are over the moon that we can help! The Sober Experiment donates 10% of all profits made to Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics), a registered charity founded in 1990 to address the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood.
*
Nacoa has four broad aims:
*
To offer information, advice and support to children of alcohol-dependent parents
To reach professionals who work with them
To raise their profile in the public consciousness
To promote research into the problems they face and the prevention of alcoholism developing in this vulnerable group!
We really are so excited about this and have mega exciting stuff coming up to raise money for them, so please keep those bright eyes peeled!
